The brain is an organ that performs extremely complex functions. The study of its functioning requires a multidisciplinary approach, this is carried out by cognitive neuroscience. This scientific field integrates two disciplines, cognitive psychology (it studies higher mental functions) and neuroscience (it studies the nervous system).
The information from the environment is captured by the sense organs, after processing it a response is selected and performed. This response allows the body to adapt to changing environmental demands. The nervous system not only acts as a link between information and response, but gives all the characteristics that make us human: emotion, intelligence, thought, language, attention, learning and memory.
